Kathmandu, Nepal | Shrawan 15, 2083 (August 1, 2026) Kathmandu Model College (KMC), Bagbazar, successfully celebrated its 23rd Graduation Ceremony on Friday, Shrawan 15, 2083, at Hotel Best Western Plus, Pingalasthan, Gaushala. The ceremony was chaired by Associate Professor Ajaya Prasad Dhakal, Executive Director of Kathmandu Model College and KMC Educational Network.
The event marked a significant academic milestone as approximately 120 undergraduate graduates from various academic programmes were formally conferred their graduation.

In his welcome address, College Chief Mr. Surendra Subedi congratulated the graduating students and warmly welcomed the distinguished guests. Describing the graduates as the true brand ambassadors of Kathmandu Model College, he expressed the institution's pride in their achievements and confidence in their future. He encouraged them to pursue excellence with humility, emphasizing that true education is reflected in wisdom, integrity, and responsible action. He urged the graduates to apply their knowledge and skills in serving society, contributing to national development, and upholding the values and reputation of their alma mater wherever they go. On the occasion, he also administered the Graduation Oath, formally marking the beginning of their journey as KMC graduates.

The ceremony featured Professor Dr. Santosh Khadka from California State University as the keynote speaker. In his inspiring address, he encouraged graduates to utilize the knowledge and skills they had acquired for the betterment of the nation while remaining committed to national values and responsible citizenship. He highlighted that Nepal offers immense opportunities for capable and dedicated young professionals and urged graduates to contribute meaningfully to the country's development through innovation, professionalism, and ethical leadership. He concluded by extending his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for their successful future.
During the ceremony, the College also recognized students who had made outstanding contributions through the Student Quality Circle and various student clubs and organizations.
Under the prestigious KMC Academic Excellence Award, the following students were honoured with a certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of NPR 33,333 each:

Similarly, under the Best Undergraduate Research Award, the following students received a certificate, trophy, and NPR 33,333 each for their exceptional academic projects:

The ceremony's highest honour, the KMC Excellence Award, was presented to Mr. Bigul Sapkota (BBM) in recognition of his exceptional overall performance. He received a certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of NPR 40,000. The award was determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of academic excellence, active participation in the Student Quality Circle and student clubs, leadership, overall contribution to college activities, and faculty assessment.
The programme was elegantly emceed by Assistant College Chief Mr. Dhurba Prasad Timilsina. The event witnessed the gracious presence of directors from colleges under the KMC Educational Network, department heads, faculty members, distinguished guests, graduates, and their proud parents, making the occasion a memorable celebration of academic achievement.
